Desarrollo Histórico de la Psicopatía y su Importancia en el Ámbito Forense

Resumen

Los individuos con rasgos de psicopatía son cualitativamente diferentes de individuos que rutinariamente incurren en conducta criminal, aún de aquellos que exhiben conducta criminal de forma severa y persistente. Las características como falta de empatía y remordimiento aumentan la probabilidad de que reincidan en conducta delictiva, aún más de aquellos descritos con personalidades antisociales. En este artículo se pretende realizar una breve revisión de literatura que explica cómo ha evolucionado el concepto de la psicopatía desde los inicios de su estudio clínico, así como discutir la importancia de tener medidas específicas en Puerto Rico para lograr identificarlos.
