Evaluating Puerto Rican Clinical Psychologists' Interest to Obtain Prescription Privileges

¿Estarían los psicólogos clínicos interesados en obtener privilegios para medicar? Para contestar esta pregunta, 100 psicólogos clínicos completaron una encuesta exploratoria. Se creó un instrumento para evaluar este asunto, obteniendo un Alfa de Cronbach de .98. Los datos revelan que el 60% de los psicólogos estarían cualificados para obtener un grado postdoctoral para prescribir psicotrópicos, un 62% considera apropiado pedir autorización para medicar, y un 35% está totalmente de acuerdo con la postura de que los psicólogos deben de tener licencia para medicar. Un 19% contestó estar totalmente en desacuerdo con medicar. En términos generales, los psicólogos de nuestro estudio expresaron opiniones positivas sobre obtener autorización para prescribir medicamentos.
