Avanzando los Tratamientos Basados en Evidencia en Puerto Rico Desde un Acercamiento Transdisciplinario

Resumen

El campo de la psicoterapia en Puerto Rico ha enfrentado grandes retos para adelantar los tratamientos basados en evidencia (TBE). Estos retos se han enmarcado en el limitado número investigaciones que apunten hacia la obtención de tratamientos bien establecidos. Barreras relacionadas a uso apropiado de métodos de investigación, recursos tecnológicos y apoyo estructural permean las limitaciones en el campo de la investigación y psicoterapia en Puerto Rico. Ante este escenario proponemos que para atender estas barreras y adelantar la ciencia de la psicoterapia en Puerto Rico necesitamos incorporar una mirada transdisciplinaria que considere el conocimiento de áreas tales como informática, antropología y política pública. El campo de la informática y salud en los últimos años ha logrado grandes avances en el desarrollo de intervenciones eficaces y efectivas en periodos de tiempo más cortos. Una integración de estos campos en la psicoterapia en Puerto Rico puede avanzar el desarrollo de TBE.
