El Impacto y la Relación Entre las Fantasías Sexuales, la Excitación y la Religiosidad: Un Estudio Comparativo
Keywords:

The subject of sexual fantasies has received very little attention in studies conducted in Puerto Rico about human sexuality. In the present study, we investigated the frequency and thematic content of sexual fantasies in a sample of 305 participants (181 women, 124 men). We also studied the relationship between fantasies and religious beliefs. Results indicated that sexual fantasies significantly correlated with a greater number of sexual partners, women informed a greater number of submission fantasies, men reported more dominion fantasies, fantasies were related to greater sexual excitation, and a negative correlation between religious beliefs and sexual fantasies. We conclude that sexual fantasies open a door to know the intimate sexual world of human participants and that those persons that informed a greater number of sexual fantasies tend to value a diversity in their sexual life and a reduced commitment to religious beliefs.
